7 months gone by in the blink of an eye...

Wow, Megs is 7 months already! I remember making this resolution when she was born... she is my last, so I'm going to enjoy her more. As if that would slow time from passing. It didn't. I blinked, and she's crawling. I love every minute.

Family Complete

I love this family. I know I've said it before! I finished editing this session while having contractions right before Meghan was born. If you have children, you know what I mean when I say that you have a moment of uncertainty before the birth of a child. My family felt perfect to me, just the four of us. But here was this new little one, waiting in the wings to join us. How would we all change?

One year before I did these photos, I did a different session with this same family. They were great- parents and two beautiful girls. Well, mom started to get queasy and admitted she was pregnant. I couldn't imagine her family any different, they were perfect! But when Dane came, he really completed their family, like he'd always been a part of it.

Looking at the love this family has for this little boy, suddenly made me realize that we were meant to be a family of five too.

Enjoy!

Tyler

This little family was visiting MN last summer, and grandma called me up to book a session. What a cutie!! These were just taken in the park around the corner. Sometimes the simplest locations make the best photos!

Princesses

These two girls are both such princesses. Except they can't decide on who gets to marry the prince. So my son gets to be married to a different sister every other day. Ahhhh, the imagination of children!! Maddie and Emily, fall 2006...

Borders

More fall pictures of some of our friends. These kids are soooo full of energy. This was such a great shoot. I got a lot of great shots despite being about two weeks away from my due date with Meghan. I was exhausted after a full day of working but it was worth it!! I love these borders too.

Baby Photos

I get asked a lot about where I work... as in, what studio do I work in. I don't... I'd rather work in your home, or mine if you would rather. I work exclusively with natural light because it's softer and so much more beautiful. Here's some examples of Meghan at 4 months... taken on my living room floor. Who needs a studio?
And the same photo in black and white...

Autumn

These photos are from last fall. I had to cut my photography season short last fall because Meghan was due in November and I was exhausted that last month! So my schedule is already filling up quickly for this fall. I can't wait! I love working with other families and getting to know them. And the arboretum is the perfect place! Here's why... I love the blaze maples out there. Unbelievable color. So if you book a session with me this fall, think about inviting someone else along- maybe the grandparents. They will enjoy the session just as much and the photos will be all the more special.

Collage

Sometimes you need more than one photo on a printout. Sometimes you have a special frame that you want to display multiple photos in. Collages are fun and inexpensive to do, and can be very creative. I did these three for my husband for Father's day.

Birthday Boy

One of the most awesome experiences that I've had as a photographer has been being in the birth room of a couple of my friends. It's an amazing process that doesn't bother me at all, and so I was completely thrilled when I was asked to be there, and to take photos! I was able to capture the excitement and anticipation from an outsider's perspective. Things happen so fast when you are the mother delivering... details are lost, memories forgotten. What a priveledge to be able to provide the memories on paper.

Aiden, the day he was born... and a year later. Happy birthday sweet baby boy!

New meaning of life

Have you ever met anyone that made you TRULY realize how important your own life is? Lacey did that for me. A total stranger... referred to me by chance at our church mom's group. Lacey has cancer. She wanted photos of herself before Chemotherapy claimed her hair. Within an hour, I was completely in love with this family. I left the shoot in tears. This could have been any of us! Go hug your kids. RIGHT NOW. Let them know you love them. And say a prayer for Lacey. www.caringbridge.org/visit/laceychambers

Little Man Dane

This has to be one of the easiest families that I work with. I've done several shoots with their girls, and they are always absolutely perfect. Gorgeous kids. It's no surprise then, that when Dane came, that he would be just as amazing and easy to work with. Here he is, marking his first birthday. I look forward to many years of photos of this family!
